About the Role
Role Overview
We’re looking for a strategic and data-driven SEO/GEO Manager to lead our organic traffic efforts across traditional and AI search platforms. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing our overall organic traffic strategy, encompassing keyword strategies, optimization on-site journeys performance, managing backlink profiles, and aligning with content and social teams to grow Dotdigital’s share of search and organic visibility, through search engine and generative results.
Key Responsibilities
- Keyword strategy & execution
- Design and manage comprehensive keyword strategies using tools like Ahrefs Google Search Console, and others
- Build and maintain a keyword matrix to guide content creation and on-site optimization
- Search performance & analytics
- Monitor and report on organic performance across traditional search engines and AI-driven search platforms
- Set and achieve targets for organic traffic growth, ranking improvements, and share of search
- Monitor and react to algorithm changes within search engines
- Monitor and react to changes in search behaviors
- On-site organic journey optimization
- Collaborate with web and content teams to ensure technical SEO and GEO best practices are implemented
- Draft and optimize landing pages, metadata, internal linking for maximum visibility
- Optimize product pages and overall on-site content to increase number of page visits per session and session length
- Backlink strategy
- Develop and manage a high-quality backlink acquisition strategy to improve domain authority and rankings
- Collaborate with Dotdigital partner teams to identify opportunities for organic backlink building and PR/external agencies and suppliers for paid and earned options
- Content enablement and creation
- Create new blog content to support key-word strategies and elevate the performance of feature launches and content campaigns
- Draft optimized content to support the overall organic journey as needed
- Produce SEO-optimized assets, with the support of the wider content team, including blogs, guides, videos, and other formats to create a variety of high ranking lead-magnets
- Ensure content is discoverable and aligned with user intent and search trends
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with Dotdigital’s website manager to form a united approach to managing website health, technical SEO needs, on-page optimization and the wider organic traffic strategy (from solution unaware, right through to conversion)
- Partner with the organic social team to create a unified and impactful organic digital presence
- Align SEO and organic traffic efforts with broader marketing campaigns and product launches
- Work alongside PPC and Paid social teams to create integrated marketing campaigns allowing organic and paid campaigns to support each other
- AI Search Optimization
- Stay ahead of trends in AI-powered search (e.g., SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity) and adapt strategies to maintain visibility
- Experiment with structured data, conversational content, and other techniques to optimize for AI discovery
- Track and communicate learnings from all AI-search activity
- Drive innovation, test new approaches, and continuously optimize for performance
About You
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS or tech environment
- Proven expertise with Ahrefs and other SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Frase, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, GSC)
- Strong understanding of technical SEO and GEO content strategy, and link building
- Experience optimizing for both traditional and AI-driven search engines
- Analytical thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Good copywriting ability
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI content tools
- Experience working in agile marketing teams
- Knowledge of international SEO, GEO and multi-language site optimization

Interview Process
- Initial Screening Call - A brief introductory conversation with a member of the Talent Team
- First Stage Interview - Introductory call with the Head of Content Marketing to discuss your background and the role.
- Interview Task - Completion and submission of a task for evaluation by the Head of Content Marketing (The quality of this task will determine progression to the next stage.)
- Task Presentation & Panel Interview - Presentation of your completed task to the Head of Content Marketing, CMO, and Website Manager, followed by a Q&A session.
- Final Stage - Informal virtual coffee chat with two members of the Marketing Team to assess cultural alignment.
