Sales Development Representative
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a targeted, commissioned role working in the Business Development Team that forms part of our Direct Sales team. Your job will be to work inbound marketing leads (demo requests, pricing requests, contact us enquiries and prospects with a high lead score) qualifying them against the acceptance criteria and converting them into Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQO) the Sales Team can then try and close as Deals.
You will report to the BDR Manager.
You will form trusted relationships with Sales and BDR Management, the wider Sales team, Marketing and your Business Development Representative peers. Your target and commission is based upon the number of Inbound SQOs you create and accepted by the Sales team.
To succeed in this role, you'll work the Leads in your name in the CRM quickly and efficiently. Time on the phone speaking to prospects is a critical success indicator. Conversations will relate to the Prospect's email, SMS, and multichannel marketing automation needs, so awareness of marketing principles and strategies is essential.

As a SDR, you will:
- Generate a steady flow of leads by responding to inbound enquiries and helping prospects with their enquiries.
- Qualify the Marketing and Partner pipeline and convert them into SQOs against a minimum acceptance criteria.
- Qualify Leads until they meet the acceptance criteria, including a clearly defined next step, current provider, email and contact volume required, current pain points, reason for moving, timeframe, budget, and integration.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to help them better target your Prospects using personalised marketing automation or Account-Based Marketing (ABM) tactics.
- Schedule discovery meetings of qualified Prospects to the Sales Rep you are partnered with, ready for SQO acceptance.
- Actively participate in and add to team learning opportunities and your personal development.
Skills and Experience
- One year of experience in a business working with prospects and customers.
- Experience reaching or exceeding monthly activity goals or revenue target is preferable.
- Experience in managing tasks and customer-related activity in a CRM is preferable. Ideally, this will be Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Experience using an email outreach program is preferable. Ideally, this will be Salesloft.
- You will be part of the Sales Team - excellent written, verbal, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- You'll be a self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in your role.
- You will be self-motivated, competitive and knowledgeable. In addition, strong problem-solving skills, super-organised, high energy and a positive attitude are necessary.
- You will have an eye for recognising buying signals and understanding where dotdigital can help Prospects.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
