We're looking for an experienced HR professional to join the growing global HR Department. The HR Business Partner (APAC/US) role is a new role, fuelled by our ongoing growth and success in those regions. You'll be supporting local teams in our Melbourne, Sydney, New York and Singapore offices, plus our Remote US employees, whilst reporting into the UK based Head of HR.

 The HR BP will be responsible for working closely with our APAC and US managers and teams, providing proactive strategic guidance, initiatives and support.  The role will be based from either our Melbourne or Sydney office, and there will be regular travel between the two locations.

 You'll ideally be an experienced and resilient HR Manager or Business Partner, used to working independently or with a remote team. As our first in region HR person, you'll be ready to take ownership of the existing HR infrastructure and build on this to provide first class business support. You'll have strong experience of Australian employment legislation in practice and any experience of US or other APAC countries would be welcomed although not essential. You'll be supported by a UK based HR Assistant (who will have additional EMEA responsibilities). Experience working within a technology business would be a bonus.

Role and responsibilities:


  • Be a strategic partner to regional managers, providing guidance on people and business issues
  • Support managers and employees in region with day-to-day enquiries
  • Oversee people actions including new hires, promotions, increases, transfers, leaves of absences, terminations and other requests ensuring all required information is obtained, actions steps are taken, appropriate parties are informed
  • Use your knowledge and understanding of the organisation to contribute to the design of any future HR initiatives and to provide input into the organisation-wide HR Strategy and Policy formulation.
  • Global project input and delivery with rest of the HR department
  • Sign off payroll briefings
  • Screening/interviewing candidates and working with local recruitment suppliers
  • Escalation for employee support
  • Implement local HR initiatives
  • Local new starter face to face onboarding (supported by our online onboarding program)
  • Keep up to date with employment legislation changes and ensure implementation across the business including employment contracts and handbooks
  • Coordinate employee development via performance reviews, local training requirements, whilst assisting in coordinating global programs
  • Ensure all activity is in line with the dotdigital diversity, equity and inclusion policies
  • Promote company culture and values
  • Manage local HR suppliers and renewals
